ELVIRA, Mistress of the Dark ®
"Hollywierd or Bust"

There is a short list of show biz careerists who can get away with a one-name-moniker: Madonna, Cher, Liberace. Once stars have achieved "one-ness" with the audience, they are assured their place Elvirain Hollywood history.

The "goddess who is one with all that is cut-rate-cult cornball", "Mistress of the Dark" -- "Elvira" -- has been a good friend to Gothic Beach Studio by making appearances. The sensual-yet-silly songstress, dancing fool, and actress extraordinare has taken a leap into the "dark side" by appearing at events produced by Gothic Beach Studio.

For those of you who may be too young to know the whole "Elvira" story, we'll keep you, uh, abreast. She singlehandedly revived the tv "horror host" genre (having wained since the '50's) by performing as MC to cult, crappy, public domain films. That gig was parlayed into motion picture appearances, personal appearances (including Knott's Berry Farm's Halloween Haunt), and lines of merchandise (everything from Halloween costumes to pitching beer to pinball games). "Elvira's" own film was produced. She is also well-known for supporting PETA (People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals) and other charities. Her generous, gregarious reputation proceeds her -- inching out her other, uh, obvious charms by mere, uh, inches....

Now comes "ELVIRA'S HAUNTED HILLS" (a gothic-horror-comedy taking place in 1851). It's the first "Elvira" feature in thirteen years, following the successful "Elvira, Mistress Of The Dark" released theatrically in 1988. The film stars Cassandra Peterson as "Elvira" and Richard O'Brien (writer/creator of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show") as "Vladimere Hellsubus". Filmed entirely on location over a two month period in Transylvania and at Mediapro Studios in Romania, the film is a parody of the classic Vincent Price/ Edgar Allen Poe films of the early sixties. The feature will have a Fall 2001 release date. Had the opportunity to attend a special screening of the movie and it's a hit! Visit www.Elvira.com for additional information.
